The ModernGlide MG200 Hinged Folding Partition System

The ModernGlide MG200 is a floor-supported hinged folding partition system designed for projects where structural support above is limited or unavailable. Unlike top-hung movable wall systems, the MG200 transfers the primary load through the floor track, making it an ideal solution for spaces where ceiling structure cannot support a suspended operable wall system.

The system allows flexible room division while maintaining reliable operation and ease of use. Panels are hinged together and fold concertina-style to stack at one or both ends of the opening — maximising the clear opening width when open and providing a neat, compact stack when not in use.

In terms of opening size, the MG200 is typically suitable for openings up to approximately 8,000 mm in a single stacking configuration. For bi-parting configurations — where panels stack at both ends of the opening — spans of up to approximately 14,000 mm can be achieved depending on project conditions.

The MG200 system is supplied with a standard pass door integrated within the panel set as standard, allowing convenient day-to-day access without needing to fully open the partition. This feature makes the system particularly practical for regularly used spaces while maintaining the flexibility of a folding partition.

From an acoustic perspective, the MG200 achieves Rw ratings up to 49 dB — suitable for a wide range of applications including meeting rooms, training spaces, school halls, community centres, church halls, and commercial environments. The system uses acoustic seals at the head, foot, and panel edges to achieve this performance.

The MG200 provides a cost-effective solution for creating flexible spaces where full top-hung operable wall systems are not practical. Its floor-supported design and integrated access door make it a reliable and economical option for many commercial applications — particularly in buildings where the ceiling structure cannot accommodate the loading requirements of a suspended system.
